Camp J

jour·ney– an act of traveling from one place to another.

un·bound– not bound or tied up.

What is Camp J?  A powerful outdoor experiential and therapeutic camp this summer- June 27th-30th from 8 am – noon in Georgetown, TX.

Who is Camp J for? Girls ages 13-15, particularly those who are struggling with issues affecting their ability to manage their emotions, behavior or relationships.   The camp is geared for girls who have gone through difficult transitions, have unhealthy, self-harming or high-risk behaviors or who struggle with feeling confident in who they are.  Space is limited to 10 participants.

Why Camp J? Because the adolescent years are ideal for powerful intervention due to the rapid physical and neuro changes.  Experiences teach skills and process emotions in a way that logic can not.  Because we all need hope and these teens deserve it.  Because there are alternatives to the common behavior interventions.  Because experiential learning and therapy is powerful and there’s tons of research to back it (see links below). Because we NEED this in Georgetown and the surrounding area.

What is the research behind this?

I am a TBRI® practitioner, which is an attachment-based, trauma-informed intervention that is designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children.    As the therapist working with the families and teens,  the TBRI® principles are used throughout our experiences and family support.

We are fortunate in Georgetown to have an outdoor expert with a background and heart for helping participants find therapeutic gains in the experience of the outdoors and activities.  The research behind the outcome benefits of adventure therapy has long been known and used as an effective way of reaching youth.

What is the cost? The cost is $360 for each girl and her family, which may be made in two payments of $180.  The complete payment is due Friday, June 16th.

How can I register?

Registration will be open May 1st – June 16th or until the 10 spots are filled.

Please contact me directly at or at 512-789-1402 for the registration application.
