Hi! I’m Jenna.
Looking for the right counselor can be hard and I bet you have lots of questions about me. Below are my top 10 FAQs.
Who do you work with?
I work with kids and teens ages 6 and up, parents and young adults.
What do you help with?
I help to take the overwhelm and frustration out of parenting and work with kids, parents, and adults to process emotions and gain better tools.
No really- I need more specifics. Can you help with my child’s behavior? Family communication? Figure out what’s going on with this issue I know nothing about?
Yes, yes and yes!
Many people come to me because an issue has gotten their attention- behavior, school issues, cutting, depression, anxiety, parenting, life transitions or something else. Folks often aren’t sure where to begin. That’s where I come in.
We’ll work together to address the issue and more importantly, get you or your family to a better place.
Can’t get everyone onboard with counseling? Don’t panic. I’ll help you figure out what’s the best course and other options you can try. I offer lots of different services of how we can work together.
Sounds good, but can you really help me or are you one of those quacks?
This is a quackery-free zone!
Seriously, here’s the deal- no one can make any guarantees that counseling or coaching will be a magic solution. But what I do know is this- I have excellent insight, strong experience and I will give you my best. I will not give you ‘woo-woo’ suggestions. I will break down what is complicated, develop a plan with you and give expert counsel using proven methods for real change.
What may take years to sort through and piece together on your own, I can cut through quickly and help process the emotions, trauma or issues that are creating blocks. Sometimes talking about an issue is overwhelming. In my role, I can approach these tough topics and open doors for better communication in a safe environment.
Your participation in the process is a huge part of your success and on my end, I promise, to be genuine, compassionate and quack-free.
Do you have evening or weekend hours?
Yes. I offer late afternoon/evening hours 2-3 days a week and appointments most Saturday mornings. Once you’re my client, you’ll have access to a portal where you’ll schedule your own appointments.
I want to work with you- but I’m an adult. Is that a thing you do?
Absolutely! I work with just as many adults as I do children and teens.
I don’t live near Georgetown, can you still help me?
Yes! In addition to my online resources and courses, we can also set up phone sessions for Texas residents.
What’s your cost?
Check out my services on each of their pages. You’ll find I’m reasonable and have various price-points for each different service.
Here’s the thing- you’re here because you’re already paying a ‘cost’ in emotions, relationships, time or otherwise- for the issue that brought you this far. When choosing a therapist, cheap does not always mean the best deal. The most ‘cost-effective’ therapist will be someone who can help you move forward, which means you want someone who listens, who is skilled in helping you and that you can trust.
Do you take insurance?
I accept BlueCross BlueShield. For everyone else, I’m considered out-of-network or out-of-pocket.
As an option, I can give a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement. Just ask me about that.
Exactly who are you and what makes you qualified?
I’m Jenna Fleming, owner of Georgetown Child & Family Counseling. I’m a former school teacher and school counselor. I hold my Bachelor of Arts in Education from St. Andrews University in North Carolina and my Masters of Education in Counseling from Texas State University.
I have training in Trauma and Loss through the National Institute for Trauma and Loss in Children and I’m a Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) Practitioner through Texas Christian University. I’m the creator of the Deeply Rooted Parenting Series and I often write and speak to audiences of parents, counselors, and educators. I also provide training for developing a model for student leadership through FranklinCovey Education.
My highest credential I believe is the fact that I’m a former kid and former teenager who really struggled with issues in my own life and with my own confidence. Today I’m a wife and mother doing my best grow personally and spiritually through learning life’s many lessons.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas and as a Nationally Certified Counselor, I proudly uphold a high standard of professionalism, ethics and continuing education (or in other words- I really geek out on learning and growing myself as a therapist).
At the heart of me is the belief that every person has incredible worth, genius, and potential and I love helping people find hope and move toward living the life that they want.
I believe you are the expert in your life- I am here to help you move toward your goals. Hearing your story is really important to me and getting clear on what you want to get out of therapy is essential. I offer expert guidance to help families regain their balance and move forward in a very do-able way.
I primarily use attachment-based, cognitive-behavioral, trauma-informed and solution focused methods and I coach people using principles of effectiveness. My Christian perspective can incorporate faith into therapy as well.
My entire life’s work has focused on serving kids and families. These experiences have developed in me excellent skills and insight for helping YOU.
Okay, I’m impressed. I want in. Now what?
That’s easy. It starts with a call.
