Who are you and what are your qualifications?

I’m Erika Blair-a former teacher and school counselor. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Abilene Christian University and my Masters of Arts in Professional Counseling from Texas State University.   I’m an LPC-Intern supervised by Cristy Ragland, LPC-S, LMFT-S

I have extensive professional experience working with kids of all ages including work with foster kids in an in-patient treatment center, teenagers in Thailand, and elementary-aged kids in the States and Mexico. I have training in Play Therapy and Trust-Based Relational Intervention.  I love working with kids and teens and helping families heal through communication and trust-building.

Some of my greatest learning experiences are those I learned as a kid and teen. I needed help and didn’t know how to ask for it. I’m so grateful to have had opportunities to grow from those experiences and hopefully live an adult life that is full of healing and repair. I am a wife, biological parent, and foster parent.

As a counselor, I create a judgement-free, respectful, and collaborative relationship with my clients that allows them to process and heal through life’s challenges. I will listen and help you sort through confusing emotions and experiences and help with a new plan.  I believe that hurts happen in relationships and therefore healing happens in relationships.  I deeply value the counseling relationship and promise to be real, truthful, and compassionate.

Faith and following Christ is an important and foundational part of my life and at the same time, I respect each person’s personal beliefs.  My goal is to demonstrate God’s love to all my clients.

Your story is important. It’s important to me. It’s important to the world. I’m here to listen when you’re ready to share.
